Pinarello Bikes Overview
When you think Italian one name is synonymous with Italian cycling and that name is Pinarello. Pinarello has a history dating back as far as 1922 when the family first began making bicycles. The brand was first created in 1952 when Giovanni Pinarello seized an opportunity in the face of disappointment to open the famed bicycle factory in Treviso in the North of Italy.
The first race team, sponsored in 1957, was la Padovani and Pinarello has been sponsoring teams ever since. Pinarello’s team sponsorship is steeped in history with team such as Reynolds, Banesto, Del Gardo, Mercetone Uno and Team Telekom all riding Pinarello bikes in the early 80’s and 90’s. Pinarello bikes can now be seen in today’s peleton under riders such as Alejandro Valverde and Brad Wiggins in the Movistar and Team Sky Teams.
